TARSOGNO GENERAL INFORMATION
Introduction to TARSOGNO The village of TARSOGNO is situated high in the Appenine mountains 80 kilometres South West of Parma at a height of 850 metres . It has a small winter population of roughly 750 which during the summer months grows to several thousands. How to get there. Nearest Railway Station is BORGOTARO 18 Km down in the Val Taro valley which is a 20 minute drive away Nearest Airport is Parma which has daily direct flights to London Stanstead . Private Aircraft are advised to phone air traffic 24 hours before arrival for parking and fuel as they can be a bit bureaucratic !! There seems to be a policy tby the Parma Authorities to keep Private Aircraft away from Visiting Parma or staying longer than 2 hours !!! Beware Fuel is not available from the Airport (LIMP) but from a private company based on the field snd is VERY Expensive Cremona which is only a short flight away is cheaper and very friendly to General Aviation Aircraft and has a great resturant on the field Parma Aero Club is available for Private Aircraft Hire and flying lessons but only to club members . Major Airports close to TARSOGNO are Parma Airport 1 hour drive ( has direct used to have daily flights by Ryan Air from Stanstead ) Milano Linate 2 hour drive Bologna 1.30 hour drive Pisa 1.45 hour drive Genova 1.30 hour drive From Parma in car car you can reach TARSOGNO by taking the A15 motorway from the A1 motorway near Parma which connects Parma with La Spezia and take the Exit sign posted Borgotaro and follow the signs towards Passo Cento Croce and Sestri Levante .Tarsogno is about 35km from the Motorway exit and 18 km from Borgotaro. There is hourly trains to Borgotaro direct from Parma or Milano and Bologna and regular buses to Tarsogno from the Borgotaro railway station,or there is always taxis available at the station bar. at about 25 Euros
